Sweet and short legged felines
¡@

We are a small family based cattery, and are registered member of TICA & WNCA. Our lines are free of FIV, FelV and PKD. Our aim is to breed healthy and good temperament family pets, and to introduce and share this wonderful Munchkin breed with more people.

We hope to produce Munchkins with long hair or short hair, in colors such as lilac or chocolate, to create more distinct looking Munchkins.
We are against the idea of crossing Munchkins with other pure breeds ~ this is to preserve and extend the diversity of the Munchkin line.

The Munchkin breed is still relatively rare in Australia. This breed of cats have cute little short legs. Even though their legs might be shorter than their cousins, they can still run and jump just as well. Munchkins also like to stand up on their hind legs like a meerkat or a kangaroo, to gaze their eyes on anything that they are curious of. They are always sweet and loving, out going and affectionate, and preserves a kitten-like personality even well into adulthood.

Why did I choose to breed Munchkin?

I am a home body, and also an artist (Please visit My Art section of this site if you are interested). Art and small animals have always been my passion since I was a child. After graduating from an art high school in Taiwan, I then worked as an art editor for a publishing company for 3 years. I then met my husband, followed him to a place full of natural beauty that is known as Australia. I said to myself, it will be a real pity to live in a place with great natural environment without animals by my side. So I have acquired companionships from lovely small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, dogs and cats. And gave birth to my two beautiful daughters.

For some unknown reason, my eldest daughter developed a special affection towards cats from the age of 3. All day long for weeks on end, she would pretend herself as a cat, speaks and acts like a cat in everything she does. In order to get her out of this habit, I made a promise to her: she can get a cat as her 5th birthday present. In return, she must act like a little girl, not a cat. Because only humans can look after and care for cats. If she is a cat, she cannot do the same. After the promise was made, my daughter kept her end of the bargain, and I started to search the web for a suitable breed of cat that will be best suited for our family.

At that time we already have a Corgi as pet dog, and was curios to see whether there is a cat breed with short legs to compliment our Corgi. This initial curiosity lead me to find more information about Munchkins, and I was very fortunate to meet one of the few Munchkins breeder in Australia - Kari-Anne of MyMunchies cattery in Victoria. Through out my dealings with MyMunchies cattery, I was really impressed and by the openness, honesty, dedication, attention to detail of the breeder, and admired the relentless of pursuit for excellence in the Munchkin breed displayed by Kari-Anne. Thanks to Kari-Anne, we got our first Munchkin - Nana - to join our family.
After experiencing the great qualities of a Munchkin first hand, we could not help by the strong desire to get a second Munchkin. We were very fortunate to get our second Munchkin - Kaka - from MyMunchies cattery again. Kaka, with her big eyes and wonderful personalities, captured our hearts in an instant, and further strengthen our love in Munchkin as a breed.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Kari-Anne of MyMunchies cattery who have provided me with lots of recommendations and inspiration. After long consideration, I have decided to become a cat breeder as well. I wish to provide the feeling of trust and dedication as a breeder to every cat lover, just like how Kari-Anne had provided me when we first met. I wish to spread the joy and happiness of owning a Munchkin cat with everyone, so that more families can enjoy the love and companionship of this special breed of cats.
